Sanders and Ester Baucom are another set of my wife's third great grandparents.  They are buried in the Lewis Williams Cemetery in Union County, NC.

Sanders was a Confederate Soldier in the Civil War.  His service description card lists him as enlisting on Sept 16, 1863 in Union County, NC.  The card describes Sanders as 41 years old with grey eyes, dark hair, fair complexion, and being 5 ft. 9 in. tall.  Sanders was a Private in Company D., McRae's Battalion, NC.  He was later transferred to 1 Regiment NC Cavalry.

Martha C. Stewart Nance was the daughter of Joseph Stewart and the sister of Culpepper.  W. H. Nance is the son of Harbart and Frances Nance.  They are buried in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in New Salem, Union County, NC.
